General Summary
Mosaic Pathways seeks dedicated individuals to assist in the classroom and
support diverse learners in grades K-8. The ideal candidate will possess an understanding and love for children, with an ability to ensure a safe, supportive learning environment that reflects the mission and values of Mosaic Pathways. Support staff must possess an enthusiastic commitment to the importance of building, connecting, and sustaining a safe, trusting, and co-regulating environment for neurodiverse individuals.
Essential Duties

Works in collaboration with teachers;

Works in small groups or one-on-one to support students;

Assumes some responsibility for preparing materials for activities;

Ensures a clean and orderly environment, notifying teachers when new materials or repairs are needed;

Observes student activities and engagement level; documents and shares information regarding student experience with the staff;

Promotes community and fosters social responsibility through multicultural and anti-bias programming and environments;

Develops and maintains a supportive rapport with parents/guardians, facilitates parent/guardian participation in the classroom;

Participates in non-classroom activities including parent/student meetings, staff meetings, and trainings;

Provides effective supervision of students to promote a safe and healthy environment;

Supervises students within and outside of the classroom - including recess, breaks, bathroom;

Responds appropriately to student concerns and issues, collaborates with teachers and Director;

Maintains a professional working atmosphere and confidentiality of information in relation to staff, children, families, and co-workers;

Exhibits a growth mindset for professional growth.
Qualifications
-
Experience with neurodiverse children at the elementary/middle level; experience in independent schools and/or alternative learning environments a plus, but not necessary;

Willing to work with and be mentored by trained staff;

Committed to a mindful, compassionate, non-judgmental approach to nurturing students’ social, emotional, physical, and intellectual growth;

Education and Training
-
High School graduate or degree in a relevant field (ex: Education, Environmental Science, Math, English, History, STEM, etc.) or equivalent experience;

Technologically competent, including working knowledge of personal computers, google docs, gaming, and tablet-based communication apps;
Special Requirements:
Must be able to complete a background check.
